The McClure School of Information & Telecommunication Systems has an Advisory Board comprised of middle and upper telecommunication managers of some of the nation’s largest corporations.
The Board meets twice a year to discuss items of importance to the faculty which include providing industry employment forecasts, making class presentations, referring employment opportunities to students from their own or other firms within the industry, offering sources for internship opportunities, providing curriculum review, offering educational site visits, supporting fund raising activities, and facilitating equipment/software donations.
The largest fund raising effort is the J. WARREN MCCLURE SCHOOL ADVISORY BOARD THOMAS LONSBURY SCHOLARSHIP GOLF CLASSIC.
The first Golf Classic was held on August 27th, 2002, and to date the Classic has presented 5 scholarships to very worthy and outstanding ITS students. The Advisory Board is very excited and proud to announce that for the first time, the 2008 Annual Golf Classic (October 2nd, 2008) will be held on the OHIO UNIVERSITY GOLF COURSE and the reception and sit down dinner will be at the OHIO UNIVERSITY INN.
